Werich fell in love with the Líšenský Dvůr

Dating back to at least the 16th century, this is the first written record of the property, specifically of its sale. The property was subsequently managed by the Institute of Noblemen in Brno, then the property was transferred to the state and became a recreational facility of the Veterinary and Pharmaceutical University in Brno. Since 2008, it has again had private owners who in the following two years have renovated it into a high standard hotel facility.

From the recent history, it will be interesting to know that in the fifties, the actor Jan Werich and the artist and director Jiří Trnka were very fond of Líšenský Dvůr, and they often visited it and were so enchanted by the place that they wanted to set up a summer studio there. However, they were unable to buy the property from the state.

Reconstruction of the hotel

In 2009, the hotel underwent a sensitive renovation, which preserved its historical character (vaults, overall layout of rooms, etc.) to the maximum extent possible, while at the same time equipping it with amenities that are appreciated by today’s discerning visitors.

In the summer of 2010, an outdoor restaurant was added with a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside to the south to south-west. The spacious courtyard has been landscaped and sports and leisure facilities added.

In 2011, a second accommodation building was added to the hotel, enclosing the courtyard on the eastern side; and in 2012, wellness facilities will be added.”

Current hotel offer

The hotel currently offers accommodation in a total of twenty-two rooms and suites with a total capacity of 68 beds (44 beds and 24 extra beds). There are two lounges for corporate and social events, a large renovated barn, a café with a fireplace and terraces for quiet evenings.

Outdoor campfire seating, water activities in the on-site pond are all part of the offer.

Wireless internet access is available in all areas of the hotel, including the restaurant and terraces.

Chalets Líšenský Dvůr

For those who prefer private accommodation, the hotel now has three adjacent cottages that offer guests accommodation with beautiful views of the surrounding forests. Each cottage has a capacity of 6 beds, an equipped kitchen, a fireplace and a terrace with seating.

Lots of fun can be had in the wooden bathing barrel, which is available to guests staying in these particular cottages.
